NYX BUTTER GLOSS

So I know I've made 3 consecutive lip related posts now (which also led me to realise just how many lip products I've purchase in the last month), but I've got to get this out of my system and then I promise to give it a bit of a rest! :P

Despite my whole thing about not being big on lip gloss, I went on a whim and bought myself 4 NYX Butter Glosses. The line seems to be generating a lot of hype - I generally find NYX lip products to be a hit-and-miss, but since these are only $5 each, I decided to go for it (meaning buying 4 shades at once). Also, it's called a butter gloss, BUTTER!! How could I resist!

NYX Butter Gloss is described as being 'silky smooth', with 'sheer to medium coverage that melts onto your lips and is never sticky'. The formula is just as the name suggests, it's buttery, creamy and glides effortlessly onto the lips. It wears quite comfortably on my poor dry lips, and is surprisingly soft and lightweight. I do feel the tiniest bit of stickiness to the texture, but no where near as tacky as other lip gloss formulas I've tried in the past.

The 4 shades I purchased include (in order from top to bottom) Peaches & Cream, Créme Brulee, Peach Cobbler and Apple Strudel.

I'm not sure if it's noticeable in the swatches, but my lip lines can be faintly seen through the gloss, especially on the lighter, more milkier shades like Créme Brulee and Apple Strudel. Overall though I'm really happy with how these NYX Butter Glosses wear on me, and give major points for not drying out my lips. It only wears about 1-2 hours, which I expected as the formula doesn't quite set and maintains its shine . There is also a hint of sugary vanilla goodness in the scent, which of course is to tie back to the whole dessert theme.

I find similarities between the texture of NYX Butter Gloss with the Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfectors (see last post), which is saying a lot as NYX is considerably cheaper. However the Natural Lip Perfectors are more hydrating and last slightly longer on my lips.

Have you tried NYX Butter Gloss? What are your thoughts on them? Let me know! Thank you so much for taking the time to comment. :)
